Sensational Joy of Jazz Festival at Emperors Palace!
24 June 2011
The royalty of jazz will descend on Emperors Palace at the opening of the 12th annual Standard Bank Joy of Jazz Festival on 25 August 2011 in the Centre Court. The entertainment extravaganza, that celebrates the soulful sounds of jazz, will be headlined by legendary trumpeter, Wynton Marsalis.
Arguably the most notable jazz artist to visit South African shores, Marsalis has won nine Grammy Awards and was the first jazz musician to win the Pulitzer Prize for Music. This international jazz phenomenon will be joined on stage by the Gauteng Jazz Orchestra, The African Soul Sisters and Wanada Baloyi, to name a few.
With the variety and calibre of artists performing, the 2011 Standard Bank Joy of Jazz Festival is guaranteed to be a sell out. This festival has become one of the social highlights for the city of Johannesburg and is a must-see.
Tickets start from R500 per person and can be booked through the Emperors Palace Box Office on 011 928 1297/1490 or Computicket on www.computicket.com or 083 915 8000.
