Gastronomic Galore at Aurelia’s Restaurant

28 June 2011

Although the only memorable remains of the mighty Roman Empire lies within the walls of Italy, experiencing this classic elegance is possible right here in Johannesburg. Situated on the sun filled northern wing of the D’oreale Grande hotel lies the sophisticated, conservatory designed Aurelia’s restaurant, where guests are treated to a palatal fantasia of flavours.

Located within Emperors Palace Casino Hotel Convention Entertainment Resort, Aurelia’s is aptly named after Julius Caesar’s mother - one of the leading feminine figures in Roman history. The menu boasts an international array of cuisine to tantalize, excite and satisfy any appetite.

Overlooking the beautifully manicured Gardens of Vespasian, the sparking water of the pool and Neptune’s Bar nestled against the lawn slopes, Aurelia’s is the perfect setting for everything from sumptuous al fresco breakfasts to dreamy candlelit dinners. Feast on the buffet styled breakfast with a generous spread of delicatessen favourites, traditional English and Continental, and opulent offerings like waffles and pancakes.

Perfect for anytime of the year, the crescent shaped restaurant is guarded by floor to ceiling curved French cut glass doors that are specifically designed to provide maximum insulation from the harsh glare of the sun in summer and the cold bite of winter. While still bathed in light, diners can settle into a combination of classic and contemporary dining area, shaded from the sun by large cream canvas umbrellas, or bathed in moonlight under a starry summer sky.

Aurelia’s provides a service of unrivalled quality and few restaurants come close in comparison. The restaurant can seat up to 90 people inside, with more tables available on the cobblestone terrace.

Take advantage of the Aurelia’s Specials for Two by enjoying a 2-course set menu with a glass of wine, between Mondays and Thursdays for you and a partner at R150 for lunch or R230 for dinner.
