80’s superstars, Air Supply, to perform at Emperors Palace in April
Finally, a breath of fresh ‘entertainment’ air will hit Gauteng within the next few months when international 80’s duo, Air Supply, will perform live in the Centre Court at Emperors Palace on 25 and 26 April 201
With over 100 million albums sold and eight Top Ten hits in the United States, the band has firmly positioned themselves as an all-time favourite over the years with hits such as “Lost in Love”, “All Out of Love”, “The One That You Love”, “Sweet Dreams”, and “Making Love out Of Nothing At All”. Fans will be able to reminisce and remember the good old leg warmers, big hair and shoulder-pad days.
Air Supply’s Graham Russell & Russell Hitchcock met in 1975 on the first day of rehearsals for “Jesus Christ Superstar” in Australia. They became instant friends with their common love for The Beatles and, of course, singing. The duo would regularly play at pizza parlors, coffee bars and night clubs with just one guitar and two voices. They quickly gained a reputation for great harmonies and original songs. They made a demo and took it to every record company in Sydney. A single was then made in one afternoon and thereafter it shot to number one on the national charts - Air Supply was born!
